Puppy Dog Breed Airedale Terrier

Latest Airedale Terrier Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Can anyone recommend the best Airedale Terrier Groomer in Geelong & Surrounds?
Our 6 month old Airedale puppy is ready for her first clip and we would like it done professionally, gently and throughly - between the pads of her paws nails clipped well ect. Lots of experience a must. Can anyone recommend a 'dog whisperer' type groomer that can strip & clip an Airedale correctly & make the experience as enjoyable as possible for our girl? Thanks!
Answer:I'm in Melbourne so don't know the Geelong based groomers, but check with your local Vet clinic. They usually know via word of mouth from customers who are the best ones in the area, and can often recommend a good one taking into account your dogs personality.

  • Should I get an Airedale Terrier or an Irish Terrier?
I want a terrier. But I want a breed that is between the medium to medium large area. I want a loyal companion with a good temperament and a lot of energy. I am willing to train with a terrier and I love outdoor activities. If you have any other terrier breed suggestions please let me know and tell me why you suggest so. Thanks.
Answer:There are many terrier breeds at shelters because owners get them and dont realize how hyper they are. It is great that you want a terrier, and are willing to exercise and train it a lot. But wouldn't you rather save a life of a dog that has no loving home and will be euthanized? If you must have a pure breed dog, would looking at a breed rescue be something you would consider? There are great dogs there too, and all pure bred. The rescues get the dogs because the owners dont want them anymore, they were cases of abuse/neglect, or the dog was pregnant when they got them and had puppies. Rescued dogs are the most loyal companions you will ever have. Because they know what its like not to have a good home, and are very grateful for you when they find it. Please consider it. If you give me the state you live in then I could help you find a breed rescue. Just do a search online for one in your area. Good luck!

  • My 3 year old Airedale Terrier just ate a whole loaf of wheat bread. Should I be worried?
He also ate a half loaf of bread roughly 18 hours ago. You would think I would learn to stop setting the bread on the same part of the countertop.
Answer:In a nutshell, no don't be worried my dog has found and eaten many loaves of bread on walks. the only thing you could really do would be to not give it as much food for tongihts dinner (if you havent fed it already) just so it doesnt feel ill or anything?! but apart from that, he will be fine dont worry :)
