  • Where I can find a good Belgian Malinois kennel in eu?
Does any one know where I can find a good Belgian Malinois kennel in eu? I whant to buy good malinois with good warking abilities for Mondio Ring training. I mean best kennels, trainers
Answer:There are several. Contact Nierlenders kennel in Belgium and talk to Marc, he has a litter right now I believe or is expecting one shortly. Another great kennel is in the Netherlands, Kamphuis kennel, contact them and speak to Mr Kamphui, both of these people speak English. The first kennel does very heavy NVBK work and the second is in KNPV. Both kennels produce really hard dogs that need experienced handlers in order to work, especially in a sport like Mondio Ring, so, I need to ask how much experience do you have in the breed and training a malinois for such a demanding sport. Please, be careful when selecting a dog that hard in temperament. Feel free to email me if you need any more help!

  • how does it feel to own a belgian malinois dog? is it a good watch dog?
belgian malinois dogs are not popular in my country because german shepherds is much more recognized. i have seen a couple of belgian mainois dogs being used in police works. not that much as a family pet in my country. is it a good watch dog and a guard dog in your house? thank you in advance for the people who will contribute their knowledge in my query. Gracias..
Answer:Ahhh, my favorite dog of all time and the epitomy of a working dog. I have been into the breed since 1980 officially and before that while growing up. Malinois are not easy to live with dogs, they are very hyper, depending on bloodlines, and do not make great "pets". They need to work and they need a lot of exercise, a lot.... If you are planning to have one sitting in the house doing nothing, you will not be happy. They do make great protection dogs if they have had the right socialization and exposure to the environment. Most malinois I know, including the ones that I have owned are working animals first and foremost. If you do decide to get one make sure you get it from a reputable breeder and spend an enormous amount of time exposing it to the world. Malinois tend to get stupid and sharp/shy if they are not enivomentaly secure. Good luck to you and let me know if you need any more help. Take care...

  • Raise a German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois together?
This is probably a really dumb question but... Would it be bad to raise German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois pups together? Would their different temperaments conflict with each other? Could you train both of them at about the same level simultaneously? I'm really interested in the Belgian Malanois having just learned of the breed, but I'm partial to German Shepherds... I couldn't see myself getting one breed and not the other now, lol. Also, is the Malinois a rare breed?
Answer:I am actually an owner of a belgian malinois currently and have also been fostering a german shepherd for several months now. There have been no issues with them together and I don't think they are such a different breed that they can't be raised pretty similarly. They are both very intelligent and trainable.. and the malinois might require slightly more exercise, but other than that I don't see why there would be a problem. Anyway, Malinois' are very cool.. highly recommended, provided you have the time and energy to give them the attention they require.

  • how much does it cost to keep a dog (Belgian Malinois)???
to buy the dog i want, which is a Belgian Malinois, is $105. she is sick though so i'm not sure how much more i'd have to pay for the vet. then there is the food and all of that stuff that i'd have to get her all her life. So about how much money would i spend, monthly? weekly? yearly?? whichever. any help would be very much appreciated. thank you.
Answer:If the dog is sick, depending on the issue a vet bill could get rather pricey. Not sure on the weight of the dog, but say you buy a 40lb bag of food a month at $30.00 a bag, thats well over $300 a year for dry food. Then if you choose to give your dog wet food as well, thats about $3.00 a week, or about $150 a year. Of course there's the cost of toys, regular vet visits for shots and the time to keep the dog brushed, bathed, etc. If you're concerned on the price of owning a dog, maybe you better think twice. If you choose to get the dog, great and good luck.
