And any tips for raising her (if she is a Belgian Shepherd) would be appreciated. We have bonded strongly. She's now my baby & I am gah gah over her!
Answer:Although I dont think she is a pure bred Belgian, I do think she has Belgian Shepdog in her background. Go to bsca.info This is our National Belgian Sheepdog club website. You can get breed info about personalities, training, structure, etc. BTW - Laurie - Belgian Sheepdog heads are not narrow like a collies. They are actually about 2 times the width of a collie and look more like a German SHepherd head. Their coats can be as big as a collies, or shorter, kind of like a long coat shepherd. .

Answer:a you planning on getting her and the stud dog tested for any hertartrie health problems??? a vet doesn't do this a specialist does. a you going to have an ultrasound done to confirm pregnancy and than an xray around 7 weeks to count how many puppies you should expect? what a you going to feed her while she's pregnant? she will need to be on a special diet(will need certain food) do you know how to tell if something isn't right while she's pregnant? do u know how to assist her in labour if required? do u know how to care for the puppy's if she doesn't? a you going to have all pups vaccinated etc before going to new homes? if u answered no to any of the above then you shouldn't breed her!!!!!!!!!!!!! out of curiosity why do u want to breed her? cos if mum and pups cared for properly through this time u wont actually make money.
Is it because it isn't as popular worldwide?
Answer:yes, in order for a breed to be recognized it must meet certain criteria, and one of them is that there is a parent club in the US, certain regulations for the US studbook, and there must be a certain minimum number of people and dogs interested in competeing. The laekenois is in the process of being recognized, right now they are registered as a foundation stock breed, meaning they are building up thier stud book and gathering interest. Answer:It should usually cost around 600 to 1200 dollar from a breeder. However a store call sell from 1000 to 2000 dollar. Note that although store sell for a more expensive price they usually come with more things such as more shots at the vet and other things. Hope this helps!!!
