I want to know more about the Belgian Tervuren and i want to see videos and stuff i just LOVE that breed they are sooooo cute just tell me every thing you can and please give me a site for videos. ( i already looked on youtube.)
Answer:I do agility, and if I had to choose an agility dog, and I couldn't have my standard poodles, I would go with the Terv every time! We've got a friend with 4- and one of them is every bit as fast as a BC- in fact, in 2007- AKC Invitational, he beat a BC on time- but dropped a bar- so it cost him the win- GREAT dogs, though. Well- it won't let me attach youtube links right now- but if you go to youtube and search for Rusty Maxwell Agility, you should be able to find some of his runs.
whats the minimal sized yard they should have? how much should they eat a day? in cups whats the avg. weight of this breed? ive googled all this stuff, but the answers just arent there so i thought id ask an owner of one. =] anything else youd like to tell me go ahead! i welcome any more info on this breed, they seem to suit what i am looking for perfectly! im looking for a strong dog who is capable of carrying a decent amount of weight about 15-17 lbs, a jogging companion daily, a friend for my other dog, also a hiking partner. One that is very loyal also. Ive heard that these dogs do well off leash and im planning to be going to beaches that allow this.
Answer:whats the minimal sized yard they should have? There is no minimum, if you can provide several hours of work for them each day. how much should they eat a day? in cups This depends on the type of food you are feeding them, their activity level, and their metabolism. In the food I feed, it would be 3-4 cups. whats the avg. weight of this breed? 60lbs, give or take for sex and general variation They need strong owner who has a lot of time to commit to training and exercising them. They ARE NOT longhaired GSD's and certainly have their own personalities. http://www.abtc.org/ is the America Belgian Tervuren Club. Visit this site for more bred info. Then, I recommend that you contact a breeder and ask even more questions. Attend some shows and meet the dogs. This is not a breed that should be bought if you have never been around one.
Hey i would like a Belgain Tervuren but i want to know the difference between the belgain Sheppard?
Answer:The only difference is their coat color. I use to own 2 Belgian Tervurens. Belgian Sheepdog are all black and Terv's color are rich fawn to russet mahogany with black overlay.
hey tell me a story about the belgain tervuren and tell me if they are good at protecting you THANX!
Answer:they are good protectors, but how often as humans do we need protecting if we are not of some kind of public service or soilder?? it is sad when people get a dog based on protection if they are not going to properly train that dog in protection work..they end up with a ticking time bomb
is it just the fur? is there any difference?
Answer:No difference, just the colour. Some countries allow the four standards of Belgian Shepherds to breed across of types. That's not allowed in Denmark, although official registrered foreign dogs can be used for official DKK (Danish Kennel Club) breeding here. I've still seen a Belgian Tervueren come out of a Belgian Groenendael mating (the puppy was registered as a Tervueren, something completely acceptable here). Some lines of Groenendael have higher epilepsy occurences and the Malinois are generally considered to have a higher drive than the Tervueren and Groenendaels, but again it depends on the individual lines.
