Answer:dude(t) --- any dog can be kept outside... just not forever... so what if the "cold" messes up it's fur.. Give the thing a bath!
I recently purchased a brussels griffon puppy from a breeder. The father was very large for the breed and the mother was average size. Both parents appeared to be pure bred dogs, and were obviously registered. However, my pup does not have the short nose traditional with the breed. This would obviously be a fault if I were showing the dog. I am just curious if anyone else has known of or owned a brussels with the same feature. Or, if you think this may mean she is not 100% brussels? it wouldnt matter if she wasnt i was just wondering! thanks!
Answer:Just because the parents appeared to be pure bred, if there were no papers, it's possible you have a little throwback to something else mixed in with either. Were you able to see any of the other pups in the litter? Often even with a "registered" litter some (if not most) of the pups are not breed standard (I know, I have a registered dachshund which I had neutered because he was not) Actually with regard to the same dachshund, he at first was all ears while his brother was all nose; my dog's nose DID grow after I got him; no doubt that he is a dachsie, now! Possibly that will happen with your pup as well; you could ask the breeder or maybe another YA member knows.
I got a black male brussels griffon (wire hair). What is a good name for him? I don't want a common name like Scruffy but I don't want a long complicated name that he will have trouble learning. Any ideas?
