I have a 9 year old cairn terrier that is potty trained and now all of a sudden he is peeing all over the house. I don't understand what is going on can someone please help!!
Answer:Well a 9 year old dog is actually getting up there in age, so he could be starting to show his/her age. Maybe he/she has a bladder problem. There could also be that he/she is stressed. Have you recently moved, had a big change in shedule, another member of the family left, or added a new member of the family. Your dog cannot talk to you and tell you what is going on so he/she has to act out in a way to get your attention. At 9 years old I would definately take him/her to the vet and have his/her bladder and kidneys checked to be sure that there are no underlying problems there. Also realize that if you have had a big change in the house recently maybe it will just take some time, be sure to give lots of attention and sympathize instead of punish for something that could just be their way of letting you know that something is wrong.
I have been trying to find a pure cairn terrier all over the web, preferably in southern california. I cant seem to find any puppies here in cali. Someone got any advice on where to look?? Thanks....
Answer:Purebred,AKC registered QUALITY dogs are bought from REPUTABLE breeders! Responsible ADULTS contact those breeders, instead of sitting on their fat donkeys on-line begging strangers for help. REPUTABLE breeders are found through their parent clubs,by referrals from other breeders &/or ones local(county) kennel clubs. Junk made by puppymilling crooks is found being peddled on-line to the lazy & gullible.
I may be getting 1, well how old can it be to be home alone? It can be ill one of those dog cages, but a large 1. How old should he be before leaving him home alone? He will have food and water with him?
Answer:They can be left at home for short periods immediately. Short period meaning an hour or two, in a crate or confined area. After that, you can go up by an hour a month until 5 months old. Then, you hire a dog walker to come in after 4-5 hours to exercise him and let him out. Food should not be left with him in case something happens. If he's under 6-8 months old, he'll need a noon feeding, in addition to an AM & PM feeding. If you use a responsible breeder, the puppy will not be younger than 10 weeks old anyway, and a puppy at this age can certainly be left for an hour or two.
