I have a cardigan welsh corgi. In the past, i have jumped her in 8". we recently measured her again and she is exactly 12" so what jump height should she be jumping, 8" or 12". thanks for any imput and i appreciate any advice
Answer:Jump heights for what? If agility, it depends on the agility organization you are competing in. They vary. Do a search for rules for that organization. Also, every org. offers a "program" that allows a dog to jump a lower jump height...
I have done some research and the fact of the easiest corgi to train and the corgi that learns the fastest is not resolved. So... Which of the two corgis learns the fastest? Which of the two corgis is easiest to train? Thank you in advance!
Answer:It all depends on the individual dog. Personally, I have two corgis. Neither one is a dog I would consider a genius, especially Jack. Yet the Pembroke Welsh Corgi is rated #11 on this list. http://petdognation.com/25-most-intelligent-dogs/ Cardigans are regarded as dumber because they are more stubborn and independent, while this may not be the case at all. I think it is truly the eagerness to learn which rates the Pems higher, while really, the always-testing Cardis may have the upper hand. Because of their independent nature, I would say Cardis are the harder ones to train USUALLY. SO, to answer your question. Which of the two corgis learns the fastest? Depends on the dog. Which of the two corgis is easiest to train? Depends on the dog, as a whole, Pembrokes.
Also please answer these if you can. Thank you (: Noisy? Exercise needs Temperament Feeding needs Grooming needs Can they be left alone from about 7.30am/8am to 4pm? I'll walk the dog thoroughly in the morning before I leave and I'll give the dog a long walk when I get back and it'll only be 3 days a week. And if you own/owned one before, please tell me of your experiences with your Cardigan Welsh Corgi! Thanks!!

I have a year old Cardigan and am considering adopting another dog. The thing is, I read somewhere once that Cardis do not do well with other non-Cardis. Has anyone else heard of this? I'd hate to bring a dog home and my Cardi not get along with it.
Answer:Before committing to a certain pet, do a home trial first. it is true that they frequently "don't get along with others". A puppy, if you have time and money for one, might be better for the existing dog, so maybe your dog won't feel as threatened. Whoever you get a dog from, let them know your situation and you need to do a test run first, anywhere from 1 day to 1 week. When you introduce the two, keep your dog on a leash for control. They can be very defensive and may cause harm to an intruder, so be very careful.
