She growls and snaps at my friends chihuahua and has had similar reactions to a couple others she's encountered. Its strange because she has been doing well with meeting other dogs of different breeds and sizes.

I have a 9 week old chihuahua and I would like to kind of have a range of when the normal age is for a chihuahua to go into heat. Also I was wondering I have a male Labrador that has been fixed do I need to worry about him when my female chihuahua goes into heat? Will he become agressive even though he has been fixed.
Answer:Females usually go into heat around 8-12 months of age. If you get her fixed at 6 months you won't have this problem. Heats are messy and gross and last for 21 days, in the meantime she cannot be allowed outside without a leash, must be monitored at all times and you cannot take your eyes off of her for one second outside, it will take 1 second for an unfixed male to smell her and get at her. If your male lab is fixed he might attempt to hump her, although it will be impossible to do. I had a male fixed foster dog that kept trying to hump this female at the dog park, I asked the owners if she was fixed they said yes so I didn't worry about it, however, turns out she wasn't fixed she was in heat and even though the foster was fixed he still kept trying to hump her. So I am not going to say your fixed lab won't try something. Take the worry out of this and get her spayed.
I'd like a family member to get a dog (I think it would be really good for him) but he says it wouldn't work in the Winter because he's on the second floor and won't want to always go outside to walk the dog. He likes the Chihuahua, and is wondering if the dog could do its duty on his balcony (perhaps in a 6x6 foot area on one end). Is this possible or advisable? And would he use a litter box? Thanks for your ideas.
Answer:Absolutely! Little dogs are great candidates for litter box training. There are all sorts of products out there now-a-days. Personally I think this is a better option for little nippers. Their bladders are so small, they can have a hard time holding it for long periods. Here are some web links for ideas on litter/ patio training http://www.petapotty.com/ :This stuff is super cool! it's literally a little grass plot for your pup to be used on a porch or inside, it can be a little pricey though. http://www.doggysolutions.com/ : Variety of products for litter/ patio training. I have a 2 yr old australian sheppard and a 8 month old chihuahua i am wondering if when she goes into heat if my australian shepard will try and get her and if he would get her would it be possible for her to have babies without hurting her........... We have a vets appointment to get them fixed in october but i am worried until then.
Answer:Yes, if she goes into heat the male will try to get to her. He will try very, very, hard, including climbing fences, digging under them, etc. And yes, if he is succesful and she gets pregnant it would be extremely hazardous. Why not see if the vet can't get them in to be fixed a little sooner so you don't have to worry about it. If its not possible, be prepared to keep one or the other crated at all times. Also, be aware that the male may start marking all over the house once she goes into heat, and other intact males in the neighborhood will also try to get to her.
My friend has 2 dogs, a boy pitbull and a girl chihuahua, and well the pitbull basically raped the chihuahua and my friend thinks the chihuahua is pregnant and is scared because thinks the chihuahua won't survive the pregnancy. Can the chihuahua survive or does she need to get the chihuahua an abortion?
Answer:Nope. The chihuahua will die. Should have thought about that before she had two intact dogs in the house. She needs to go to the vet, get them both spayed and neutered today.
