Latest Doberman Pinscher Frequently Asked Questions:
By the end of this summer, I am looking to adopt a Doberman Pinscher baby. I am NOT trying to purchase a Doberman pup from a breeder trying to sell their puppies. Even if I ever found a refutable breeder, I am adamant about saving lives through adoption. Doberman pups are hard to come by in a shelter; however, I know that animal shelters may have pregnant dogs. Does anyone know how I might be able to somehow locate a pregnant Doberman due to have their pups at the end of the summer? I'm finding it difficult because I don't think shelters put up their pregnant dogs up for adoption (so I wouldn't even know if they existed). Thanks!
Answer:try your local animal shelter and also www.petfinder.com they have different breeds of dogs available and I am sure you can find a doberman pinscher! You will be doing a wonderful thing by adopting and not buying a puppy!!!!
i was looking at pictures of them on the internet and when i typed in 'doberman pinscher' the pictures looked exactly the same as the regular doberman pics... Is there even a difference at all??
Answer:Doberman pinscher is the full proper name of a doberman. It gets shortened to just doberman for ease

I will be adopting a Doberman Pinscher puppy and I have looked at many, many pictures of this breed. I have found that, depending on the dog, the body type of this breed seems to fluctuate. I love the Doberman Pinschers whose bodies are sleek and muscular, and whose heads are proportionately sized. However, I have also seen Doberman Pinschers whose look I did not like. Their legs and body seemed very thick and wide, and their heads seemed very small. Is there any way I can choose a dog whose future body type will fit the criteria I'm looking for? What I'm not looking for: http://www.jphpk.gov.my/English/doberman_pinscher.jpg What I am looking for: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://cache.eb.com/eb/image%3Fid%3D8141%26rendTypeId%3D4&imgrefurl=http://www.britannica.com/eb/art-10044&h=450&w=425&sz=26&hl=en&start=12&tbnid=DFed5DRDWgL88M:&tbnh=127&tbnw=120&prev=/images%3Fq%3DDoberman%2BPinscher%26gbv%3D2%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG
Answer:I can't open the first link but the second is a poor quality, poorly proportioned, weedy Dobermann. I suspect you want a slighter elegant b1tch but more like this one? http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://dobermannclub.info/images/dcact_logo.gif&imgrefurl=http://dobermannclub.info/&h=233&w=420&sz=7&hl=en&start=178&sig2=yTzf_tAXm6PPaTHmbAqnog&um=1&tbnid=psSuhmSpUIg_YM:&tbnh=69&tbnw=125&ei=FKlWRpPUAoechATTkeXCBQ&prev=/images%3Fq%3Ddobermann%26start%3D162%26ndsp%3D18%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN Type does vary from country to country & decade to decade. Sometimes larger, stockier ones are fashionable, sometimes more elegance is looked for. You select a puppy based on parentage & rearing. Chunky parents will probably produce chunky puppies, weedy produces weedy. You need to study the pedigree and learn what is behind any proposed litter as sometimes past types will come out. Go to shows and see which dogs and kennels are producing the style you want. When you find the type you like in the flesh rather than in photos you can choose a breeder.
How much does it usually cost to buy a doberman pinscher puppy with the tails and ears done, and without them done? Like whats a good price to buy them for? ALSO, do you know where i can buy one in Texas?
Answer:A pet quality puppy from a responsible breeder typically in the range of $1200-1500 or a bit more. You may find them for a bit less but much less is a red flag. This includes crop, dock, dew claws, UTD on shots, parents fully heath tested etc. No responsible breeder would leave the puppy uncropped or undocked. As far breeders start your search at DPCA.org and go to their breeder referral page. I would also recommend joining the one of the Doberman groups on Yahoo Groups and asking about breeders. Most have knowledgeable people who may be familiar with breeders in that area.
