Hello, I am trying to gain some insight on which toy breed would be right for me. I really love English toy spaniels but I hear they can be aloof and are so hard to find. Shih Tzus are my second choice although I have heard they can be yappy. I am really not that into terriers. What I am really wanting out of a dog is a lap dog with a sweet temperament, who tends to follow me around as opposed to being independent and aloof. I am a stay at home wife so I have a lot of time to devote. Thank you so much for your help!! I Thank you for all those links they were great. Its still coming up english toy spaniel and shih tzu. So any insight on that would be awsome. Thank you guys!!
Answer:Take some dog breed selector quizzes and research breeds that show up. Relying only on anecdotes won't help as much as thorough research. Good sites to get you started are: http://www.akc.org http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com (has reviews of good and bad points of each breed) http://www.dogbreedinfo.com As always, please consider getting your dog from a shelter or rescue. Small dogs are in shelters, too.
just curious.... thanks!
Answer:I really love the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. why? they are wonderful dogs, bred as companion dogs. they are sweet natured, loyal, cute (obviously), like well-behaved children and love other animals. i'd love to have one some day, maybe. if i can find one in a rescue somewhere.
