Latest French Bulldog Frequently Asked Questions:
how much would a french bulldog puppy cost? i've wanted one forever
Answer:Some of these people are idiots. I've owned Frenchies before, and in fact, I have one now. They are not huge, anything over 28lbs can't be registered. No, they are not headstrong and hard to housebreak. My Frenchie I have now was the easiest dog to potty train that I've ever owned. In fact, Frenchies love to please their owners and are known as "the little clowns" for a reason. Yes, in the States they will cost you upwards of $1500. But you need to consider that the amount of cost is just the beginning. They are prone to skin and respiratory problems like any bulldog breed. You can expect to have higher vet bills than with other breeds. They do need exercise, but be careful of the heat. With a sweater on, my Frenchie loves the snow. You need to make sure that you can afford to feed them "the good food", like Iams, Eukanuba, Science Diet, or any of the Natural Dog Foods. Good luck. If you can afford it and are willing to give proper care, a French Bulldog will be the best dog you have ever owned.
I have a 6 month old french bulldog. We are going to Japan and I dont think we are going to take her. I am willing to sell her for atleast half of the price. What should I do? alot of friends and family would take her but when we come back to the states in 3 years i would want her back... but i couldnt do that if she has been living with someone else for 3 years. So if it were someone I dont know(but a good home) would be better!
Answer:She sure is CUTE!! Try advertizing her online. Or do you have any friends that want a dog? Best wishes:)
I have been in search of a french bulldog of my very own for about two years now and was hoping someone could help me! I have an excellent home for a new family member and do not work! If you know of someone who needs an excellent forever home for there frenchie in southern California please let me now I would be so deaply greatful! I am by NO means a kennel and I do not show my dogs either! I would just contact a breeder but I feel like adopting would be so much more beneficial and I have already tried most all of the adoption agencies but they are taking forever to get back to me!!! I've already waited two years please help!!!! Thanx
Answer:The only thing I can add is that the rescue organizations are very careful about selecting permanent homes for the dogs that have been surrendered, and it's a painstaking process to sift through the applicants for each and every dog... Keep checking... Apply for the dogs that genuinely sound like they would benefit from living with you, and "sell yourself"... You have to write the organization and tell them why you would make an ideal companion to a Frenchie... In the meantime, the other thing you can do is to contact the actual breeders... Many place their retirees, or the dogs that they've removed from their breeding programs up for adoption... These dogs tend to be more socialized and somewhat house-broken and will appreciate a leisurely life of being pampered and adored... In rare cases they have older puppies that were originally kept as show prospects and just didn't meet expectations, so they also place these dogs in permanent adoptive homes... Yes, adoption is beneficial, but the more you learn about the breed and the more you tell the rescue organizations about what a great home you can provide, the better chances you'll stand of being selected... Best wishes in your endeavors. TM
I am looking for a puppy French bulldog to buy and I can't seem to find any breeders in or around my area. I was wondering if it would be morally wrong to buy a pup from somewhere in the US and ship it to Montreal. I heard that some puppies die in the cargo area of planes because it gets very cold. Does anyone know if it's safe to ship puppies and if there are any French Bulldog breeders in my area? Thanks.
Answer:Call your provincial kennel club. Many of them have websites listing breeders. Later I found a breeder in New Brunswick, if you would like to contact me.
I'm waiting for my French Bulldog puppy to get a little older before I actually take him home. He is almost four weeks old, and I want to know when I should take him home. The breeder says 7.5 weeks, but I've heard it is okay at 6 weeks. But, I want the best for the puppy.
Answer:Minimum - 8 weeks!!! Better is 12 weeks. The time between 8 & 12 week is a good time for the puppy to be socializing with his littermates, and owners. His immune system is developing, and by 12 weeks he can have had all his puppy shots. He is also able to make a smoother transition to a Loving Forever Home. Be patient, and best of luck to you and your new Frenchie. They are awesome little dogs.
