First thing - only train when they are tired - it takes about two hours of hard excercise to tire them out - fetch, go for a jog, dog park if you have them etc etc. Always be consistant - the one time you let them get away with something will set them back a week in your training. Spend at least 15 minutes a day for training alone. Consult a professional - if you have no prior experience training these dogs you need to find someone who has. Training class, professional trainer, sending them away to boarding school are all options, and I have done all 3! Mine get two hours of excercise a day and now sleep from 9-7:30 with at least 2 long naps during the day. We spend about 10 minutes total on training now that they have the basics down. One requires an e-collar to be off leash, and the other is usually great off leash - though you never want to trust this. He ran off one night and found his way to a friend of mine's house 2.5 miles away! We've never walked over their either! He was curled up on her doorstep.

No she is not fixed and it is a clear discharge Just got out of heatat the beginning of I think April. One year old. The discharge is clear as well. She wont eat,really ethier. We have a male lab begal mix about 7 months old. How offten does a female dog go into heat?

Answer:Has she recently had a shot? Our dogs get them and it stays for a month or so everytime one of them gets a shot. If not, I would go to the vet and have him feel it, and possibly biopsy it. Only a vet will be able to tell you for sure.
i'm not sure if i want a 2nd pointer or something else....any suggestions on a good companion to play around with.
Answer:Since as German shorthaired pointers are known for being an energetic breed, it would be wise to get a breed with the same energy levels. I personally wouldn't get somethng to small, but not too big. Maybe a doberman, weimaraner, another pointer, vizla even a labrador or boxer would do. Just be sure to propperly introduce the breeds.
