It seems like they're such an ignored breed. But they're such great dogs. Is Dogs 101 ever going to do a segment on Great Pyrenees? I was looking on their website schedule, and on December 13th it changes from Dogs 101 to "Cats 101", are they doing a show about cat breeds too?
Answer:They've only done 8 breeds as far as I can tell (the 8 shown on their webpage). The only way to know for sure would be to email and ask them. I had the same question in my mind when I saw the program. -!-
We just got a American Eskimo/Collie mix but I don't think she is either.. she weighs about 25/30lbs and she is only 2 1/2 months old. She has ears that stick up and is golden in color. I think she has Great Pyrenees in her.
Answer:OH... dear... Her weight indicates she'll be the size of a pyr... BUT... Your description says NO... Pyrs are not golden colored... They can have badger markings, and some light or golden colored coffee stains, but they do NOT have ears that stick up straight. You CAN get DNA testing done on her. That's the only way to be sure. Golden retrievers as well a pyrs have ears that lay over and do NOT stand up. -!-
What does Great Pyrenees looks like a giant Golden Retriver w/ white coat? I read that they're from Siberia,but they kind of look alike Are they related in some way?. Is it just me?
Answer:They don't look like a Golden with a white coat. Have you ever seen a pure bred Great Pyrenees?
my male cat keeps climbing my dog's back. And my dog does not seem to mind it. The dog walks around and the cat holds his grip through the collar of dog. Its as if my male cat thinks the great pyrenees is a horse. why does he do this and how to end this habit?
Answer:You DON'T stop this habit. The cat loves the dog. The dog is protecting the cat. They enjoy each other's company. Why does that bother you? -!-
My female Great Pyrenees dog had pups yesterday and I have been hand feeding her because she will not get out of the nursing bed and leave her pups. She also does not want to go outside to "do her business" and will not drink any water. This is my first experience with a dog having pups. Thanks.
Answer:Put her on leash and take her outside. If she refuses to drink (or eat) she needs to see the vet. Do not allow her to become dehydrated or malnourished!
