Answer:The correct breed name is the Irish Red and White Setter. You can find the contact information for regional breeder referral coordinators here http://www.irwsa.com/referral.html The breed is still fairly uncommon in the US so fortunately you are not likely to find one in the shelter Keith: try educating yourself before attacking others. The Irish Red and White Setter which is indeed a red and white Irish Setter (the original color of the breed btw) was accepted into the AKC sporting group in 2009 Edit: By attacking I meant your original post which has since been changed that stated something along the lines of "Irish setters don't come in stripes" prior to telling the poster to educate themselves about the breed, suggesting you were calling them uneducated for believing the breed came in red and white. I was simply suggesting you ensure you knew the facts yourself before telling others to educate themselves

I live in Connecticut and my boyfriends and myself are trying to buy an irish red and white setter puppy. We would like it to be cheap and we do not wanna buy one til the summer so we would prefer if the litter was ready to buy around june or july because we want the puppy to be as younge as possible. Please and thankyou! :]
Answer:You won't find purebred puppies cheap unless you go to a shelter or rescue. It's fine that you don't want to spend a lot on the dog, but you need to have a reasonable budget for vet bills and supplies.
