Answer:Don; feel guilty at all!!! You are doing great by walking your dog. You just happened to eb in the wrong place at the wrong time Not their fault either. You're even asking shows you care!!! Keep loving your furry friends, and don;t worry when small things happen. Stuff will happen from time to time.
Somebody probably already posted the, but there are three breeds now recognized by the AKC! Here ya go: Pyrenean Shepherd http://www.akc.org/breeds/pyrenean_shepherd/ Norwegian Buhund http://www.akc.org/breeds/norwegian_buhund/ Irish Red and White Setter http://www.akc.org/breeds/irish_red_white_setter/ AKC now has 161 total recognized breeds. Now to make it legit...hmmmm What is your opinion on the AKC adding new breeds? Kips Mom. I am well aware that these are not "new" breeds. As a matter of fact, here, I will quote what I put in the subject area: "there are three breeds now recognized by the AKC" It is right up there, at the top. You are right, I should have said "Three breeds now recognized by the AKC" in the title line. That probably would have been more clear. :)
Answer:Its great that there getting noticed by the AKC, its one of the biggest registeries, and I'm sure breeders had been waiting a long time for it. I was so happy when The Nova Scotia Duck Toller got accepted!!!
I feel ac ward shipping a young pup so, I'd love to find a breeder somewhere close. I wouldn't be ready for it till spring time, but thought I'd start looking around now just to see whats what i'd be eventually interested in a red one not red and white.
Answer:Go to www.akc.org & find your closest local Irish Setter breed club. Buy from a breeder that does all pertinent genetic testing on their breeding dogs (OFA or Penn Hip certify against hip dyspasia, CERF certify eyes, etc). Reputable breeders do not always have litters or unreserved pups available, so if you are interested you really need to start searching now to get on a waiting list. Good luck. p.s. Be EXTREMELY careful where you buy from - Pennsylvania is one of the largest puppy mill states - but most of these would not be AKC registered (usually CKC or APRI), and none would be members of the national breed club or bother doing proper genetic testing.
I'm not getting any of them, I just want to know your personal opinions. -Cane Corso Mastiff (or Italiano) -English Setter -Irish Red and White Setter -Kishu Ken -Large Munsterlander -Native American Indian Dog Why? 10 points to best answer
Answer:Kishu Ken! They are so beautiful! They are a rare breed, so your bound to get stopped in the street by people asking "What kind of dog is she?" I also like their temperament; loyal, gentle and loving. Definitely my favorite of those breeds.
My boyfriend and I are (finally) getting a Bernese Mountain Dog!! The only thing we haven't planned for is a name! The only one we can so far agree on is Marley or Surrey, but surry is kind of like Tom Cruise's daughter so I dont know haha. We have a male red&white irish setter/border collie mix names Nixon. The Bernese is going to be a girl. What are some good names you can think of? We dont want to name her a typical persons name like sophie or emma or anything, when we were naming our other dog we liked Murphy, Hudson, Mack... those are more boy names, but that might give you an idea of ones we like. Any ideas would be great! Thanks!
Answer:Girl names are harder, in my opinion. You could name her something ironic like Midget. A name we considered for one of our girl dogs was Kali, which is the name of the Indian Goddess of Destruction... lol... would have been very accurate in our case. Or Bergen, which is a Scandinavian name meaning "Mountain Dweller" since she is a Mountain Dog. Montana also means mountain.
