Two or three a week are enough, but four or five are better. You may be able to train effectively for as long as 15 minutes per session. Stop at the first sign of boredom. Always finish with a few minutes of play. If you lock your dog in his kennel immediately after training, he'll feel like he's being punished. I use quail scent on an old pheasant wing. Drag it through grass and brush while he cant see you. go get him and put him on the scent. it wont take him long to get the idea

I have a puppy myself -- he get's into EVERYTHING. When I'm at school, and my family is gone too, we leave him in this large area. We leave Micheal Buble on.. (That's all I ever listen to, I figure he's used to it! ) Hehe, and when he was a little younger, my neighbour would check on him every so often to make sure he was okay. Leave him a bunch of toys to play with, leave him a bed, and feed him when you go out, so he's distracted. Dogs like scheduals, so after a few days, he should start getting used to it! You'll see how overjoyed he will be when you get home!!
