Latest Keeshond Frequently Asked Questions:
with the keeshond as the father and the black lab as the mother, about how big would it be? a keeshond is a fairly small dog while a black lab is medium to a big dog
Answer:The Lab would probably give the pup longer legs, so it will likely be a few inches taller than Keeshond dad was. The Keeshond is about 10 lbs. smaller than the Chow, so I would suggest you google Chow/Lab mix pictures to get an idea of what it will look like. I suggest that, because it is a much more frequent mix that will be easier to find information on. Best of luck, you've got a pup with 2 great breeds in its blood!
It is a type of dog in the non-sporting group. It looks a lot like a chow chow, but it is black and silver and white. We have three!
Answer:Yes I have heard of a keeshound they are so cute!!
I brush and 'furminate' him regularly, but my house is still full of dog hair. These dogs are the best dogs!! Loyal, loveable, protective and they don't smell!!
Answer:I know there are supplements just for shedding. I don't use them. I have a Siberian Husky so I really know what shedding is all about. Just brush everyday. The Furminator is the BEST! I love those dogs as well my brother had one. What a great dog!
my dog died today and i cant have my house be alone to remind me of her.
Answer:
My dog was rushed to the emergency vet last night after I found him outside crying and wandering around in a daze. He was unresponsive, was drooling a little, and was heavily panting. He finally laid down and had a glazed look over his eyes. After calling an after hours vet I went back outside to find him recovered but extremely scared and stressed. After leaving the vet, I found out this morning he had another seizure about midnight which lasted about 30sec. He recovered after an hour and was told he was okay this morning. I have noticed over the last couple of months that on occasion he has acted 'strange' and as my husband says is a bit 'skitzie'. I have also noticed he has trouble with his sight sometimes. Blood tests have come back normal except with a slight elevation in something relating to his liver, but still within normal limits. All physical signs are healthy. Could this be a brain tumor, epliepsy or something else causing these symptoms?
Answer:I am sorry you and your boy are going through this. If tests were run, and came back within normal ranges, you are probably looking at idiopathic epilepsy, which is just a fancy was of saying seizures of unknown origin. If you haven't already, start keeping a notebook with the date, time, and description of every seizure. This will help you and your vet check out any potential causes, triggers, etc. and help you to be able to help stop the seizures. Having an MRI might be an option, to rule out tumors if that is what you are concerned about, but expect a hefty price to go with that. Sometimes flea or heartworm medication can cause seizures, so be sure to note when each is given, along with your seizure activity log. Hopefully you will discover the cause and not have to go through this any more. Good luck!
