Answer:I think they're both beautiful dogs. You already have a Maremma so go with the Kuvasz. The only problem is is that the Kuvasz is more prone to health problems than the Maremma.
I always wanted to buy one of those dogs. Currently I own a White German Shepherd (American Shepherd as some call it). Any idea?
Answer:It is not a very common breed however if you connect with a good show breeder there ARE breeders around- you may have to travel a bit (perhaps to a nearby state,) to get a Kuvasz especially if you want a puppy (which is probably easier anyway,) however if that's what you want than I say go for it!

Answer:if you go to www.dogbreedinfo.com and put in a search for both breeds you will find that they are not exactly the same dogs. the kuvasz has been around since the 1200's and the maremma sheepdog was officially named that way in the 1950's. while it is believed that there are kuvasz genes and lines that were used to make up the maremma dog it is not solely a kuvasz. plus they are smaller than a kuvasz. the kuvasz is normally around 100 lbs while the maremma dog is around 60-70 lbs and noticably shorter. you can find the differences at this website.
